Update on my Lobito

It's been one week since I found out that my dog had his leg broken.
I was so devastated, and it didn't help that the first vet recommended amputation. The first vet gave us an estimate of minimal $1,000.00 and up to $2,000 to repair his leg. I do not have the money and wouldn't expect my parents to spend so much on my dog, plus my dad was trying to convince me to just have him put to sleep.
I had recommendations to take him to a vet in Colorado City, which my mom and I finally did on Saturday and I'm glad we did. The vet explained the 2 options he had for my dog and they did not include amputation AND the cost ranged from $100- $300! I was so excited I cried. I cried looking at the x-rays and I cried when he gave me good news, I'm sure he thought I was crazy. I was just so happy.
So the option I choose was to put a splint on the break, to allow it to heal on it's own. If it doesn't work the vet said we can back track and have a surgery.
He reassured me that because Lobo is only 8 months old, he'll be able to recuperate just fine.

I didn't think of taking pictures of Lobo but I took these a couple of weeks ago. In the pictures is a neighbor's dog, Blanca. Right now Lobo is at the vet, til Tuesday, but Blanca comes over everyday, I'm sure she also misses Lobo.
